Weekly Blog

This week I have been going to life education. Life education may sound boring to most people but to me it's really fun. I get to learn about what really makes you the person that you are right now and for me that's really special. I get to find out who i truly am and what kind of things do people think of me. On the first week we did this little personality test and I became a turtle. A turtle is someone who is patient, humble, hates arguing, loves being around people, takes their time on making discussions and so on. Life education is a good opportunity to find out who you really are. Well that's all from me I really hope that you will enjoy life education just like I did😁

Beyonce Bert

As I was walking into the hall for the Immersion Assembly, I saw Beyonce!!! I was so excited to met Beyonce for the first time but when Beyonce turned around I was in a lot of shock. Beyonce turned out to be Mr Burt.

My favourite team that did their thing for the Immersion Assembly was Team 5. I liked team 5’s one was because they were doing ‘Tai Chi’. Now if you have no idea what Tai Chi is, Tai Chi is a type of martial arts that most people do near China. The funniest part about it was Mr Wiseman, the reason why was because while he was doing the actions he thought that he was a TIGER!!!!

I would like to say a big thank you to all teachers that took their time off during the school holidays to make their movie for the immersion assembly. Taking your time off during the school holidays is a very hard thing to do because you don’t really get time to relax or have some quality time with your family. Thank you teachers for doing this for us students.

What Have I Been Doing Lately????

Its the School Holidays and its been pretty boring. All I've been doing is cleaning up and watching my cousin's games. My cousin's name is Naomi and she plays for the East Auckland Storms. She's won her first game against Central and today she is going against West Storms, but unfortunately i couldn't go to support her so i have to wait until she comes back to here if she lost or won, but i'm really hoping that she wins so good luck to her. Well that's pretty much what I've been doing for the school holidays but i hope we get to do something fun next week.

My Highlight About Term 2!

This term has been amazing but its very sad that Mrs Sio has gone now, she will be coming back but she will be going to Team 4 in Room 6. I think my highlight for this term was TEAM BUILDING!!! I liked wait...... I LOVED team building because all the year 8's were gone and also we got to make Slime, Play games, Cook piklets, made our own banner, we got to make air planes and we got to play Minute to win it. What's even more better is that we have Mrs Tele'a now and she's really fun. I hope you enjoyed my opinion about what i liked most about this term.

Today all we are doing for learning is doing the same work from last week but we are illustrating how we solved it, with images. We have to do the same questions but we have to sort it out with images so you guys can actually picture it in your mind.

In this equation I split 947 and 632, which would look like 900, 40, 7 and 600, 30, 2. Splitting the number is probably my key strategy, i like to do in every equation.

Today in this equation i did the same thing that i always do, and if you don't know what it is the thing that i always do is.... split the number because the number is too big. so i split the number and subtracted all of those numbers and then i got the answer.

Task Description - this slide is Paikea, Venice and i and we did all of the problems trying to figure out how much did we need to make up that number. by looking at the penalties and conversions we got the answer and we did on our own.

My Little Life 2018

Hi my name is Trendy and i'm a year 7 as you can see at the top of the site, well anyways next year I will not be here because i’m moving to Australia to live for college so I can hang out more with my family. It is going to very sad to leave my friends but it’s worth it hahaha. On April I will be going on a boat cruise in australia with my family and i’m SO EXCITED! I will be there for about a week or 2. So pretty much this writing that i’m doing right now is just for fun and to tell everyone who checks out my blog that I will be somewhere else but I might blog in australia. Well this is the end of my little life right now I hope you enjoyed this and I will miss yous all when I leave. XD

Walt: Algebra - Find The Value Of 'x'

Task Description: 

We are learning about Algebra this week. Before when i didn't get it i got really frustrated and my mind was going CRAZY! but then i started to get more and i started to cool down and now i'm finished with my work. I feel so happy. Algebra may be hard at first but then you get use to it, also whenever you think that something is the answer but your not quite sure then take a risk.

Term 4 Immersion Musical Madness!!!

WALT: use exciting language in a recount

Today we had an immersion assembly. We are learning to create our own music and instruments, we might learn how to play instruments too. Do you know how to play an instrument?

This team’s theme is Music Madness and it’s all about music, of course. All the teams did something for the theme and they all had music in it. My favourite team out of all the teams was Team 3. I liked their one because they did Songs in real life and it was funny in some parts and dramatic in others.

Team 4’s topic is about creating our own music. The teacher’s in Team 4 made a movie about pretending to do an apple ad, but instead they did a Pt England ad. They were in a vehicle, listening to different music tracks on the radio. In one part of the movie Mr Goodwin was being so DRAMATIC (some of the songs i didn’t know because they were old school songs).

I want to play the guitar and I hope we will be able to learn some other instruments that we don’t even know about. I want to make my own song and even maybe try to make my own instrument. I really hope we will be able to learn more about music because I LOVE music. I really hope we get to make our own movie about music as well.

Overall I like this terms theme better than the other theme’s this year because this theme is all about music. Music is like my favourite and I love school as well so combine school and music might be a fun term (or it might be a catastrophe). Do you want to do the same thing?

STARDOME!!! I HAD A TREMENDOUS TIME!!!

WALT: Structure a recount

STARDOME

Last Thursday our class went to the Stardome in One Tree Hill. We got to play on the playground, learn about space from an expert, and even watch a crazy movie on the roof. Have you been to the stardome before?

We lined up in our groups waiting for the bus because we were about to go to Stardome. We had to go into groups even though we already had a group, our group was to big, so we had a leader that would take us around. My leader was KING RICHARD and yes he is a king (nahh he’s not) and in my group was Ana.T, Hinerangi, Monika, Leader Ayla, Leiite, Tisa, Lepa, then we were the first group to go in the bus and all the girls went at the back and off we go to Stardome.

When we got out of the bus, we lined up on the grass and waited for PRINCE GOODWIN to say walk quietly to the playground. We were the last to go and then when we got on the playground i started walking around with hine. Then i saw kayla and played slaptag with Jozlo, Kayla and Tupuia. Then PRINCE GOODWIN  told us to go inside stardome. We were the last to go inside and KING RICHARD saw cages and said “those cages are for bad children” then we went into a room and sat down.

When we sat down and waited for this man to tell us all about space, we just sat there bored. Then he was ready to talk, when he started talking i wasn’t tired at first until he took so long to say stuff it was tedious. It was interesting though then he gave KING RICHARD 2 pairs of paper on 2 clipboards and 2 pencils so he gave one to ayla and one to tisa and them 2 were leaders for girls and boys. We started a quiz and looked around in stardome place to find the answers, then we stopped and gave it back to KING RICHARD and lined up.

We lined up and waited to go in the dome. When we went inside the dome i looked and the roof was big i was contented. Then i walked with hine and sat down on the chair but the chairs were tilted so you can lay down. Then the movie started, and throughout the movie i felt tired but i never got to sleep. After the movie we looked at stars and saw heaps of stuff like a pegasus, the cross and a clock. Then we got up and got into our groups and walked to the bus, and the driver drove us back to school.   

Well i actually forgot what i learnt because our man had a really deep voice and i don’t remember

Task Description: we went to star dome last week and it was TREMENDOUS, i loved it so much but the best part about star dome was the dome because we got to relax and watch a movie.

Mars One Project!

Walt: Make connections with what we read, and what we have read before.

Task Description: A mars one project is all about mas and stuff on mars for example on the mars one project it say's what kind of things are on  mars, are they dangerous to us?  will we survive if we lived there? and then i have to answer the question so people understand and they will know what's it like on mars.
